How do I get a price for sending SMS to another country?

On the home page, go to PRICING. Note your current bundle price for national SMS. Use the drop down list to select your new destination country. The equivalent bundle price will apply.

Contacts

How do I upload / import contacts?

Login to your account. Go to CONTACTS > IMPORT CONTACTS. Follow the steps shown.

How do I create a group?

Login to your account. Go to CONTACTS > MY GROUPS. Enter the new group name and press ADD NEW GROUP.

How do I put contacts into a group from an Excel file?

Login to your account. Go to CONTACTS > IMPORT CONTACTS. Follow the steps shown. On the following screen Select the Option ADD THE NEW CLIENTS TO and click BROWSE FOR GROUP > ADD USER TO THIS GROUP.

How do I move contacts into a group from a different group?

Login to your account. Go to CONTACTS > MY GROUPS. Enter name of new contact group. Click CREATE GROUP. Click EDIT symbol beside this group name. Click ADD MORE CONTACTS, click ADD beside the the Contacts you wish to add.

How do I download/export contacts?

Login to your account. Go to CONTACTS > EXPORT CONTACTS. Follow the steps shown.

How do I allow recipients to "opt out"?

Login to your account. Go to MESSAGES > ADVANCED SETTINGS. Make sure that REMOVE OPT OUTS COMPLETELY is checked. Send a TWO-WAY message to your contacts which ends: "To opt out reply STOP". Those who reply will be completely removed from your contact list. Webtext will automatically reply to each Opt Out confirming they have been removed.

How do I remove contacts from my list?

Login to your account. To delete a contact manually, go to CONTACTS > MY CONTACTS and hit the DELETE symbol. You have the option to "blacklist" them by checking ADD TO BLACKLIST. Contacts who Opt Out are automatically removed from your contact list AND they are "blacklisted" to prevent you adding them again.

How do I allow duplicate entries in my contacts?

Login to your account. Go to MESSAGES > ADVANCED SETTINGS. Make sure that ALLOW DUPLICATE ENTRIES is checked. You can now have multiple contacts sharing a phone number.

How do I prevent duplicate entries in my contacts?

Login to your account. Go to OPTIONS > ADVANCED SETTINGS. Make sure that ALLOW DUPLICATE ENTRIES is un-checked. The system will prevent duplicates being uploaded.

Compose & Send

How do I send a one-way message?

Login to your account. Go to MESSAGES > COMPOSE MESSAGES. At Step 2, check ONE WAY MESSAGE. Make sure you have added a Company Tag before you send a message. Recipients will see your Company Tag as the sender, but be unable to reply.

How do I put a name (company tag) on my messages?

Login to your account. Go to MESSAGES > COMPOSE MESSAGES. At Step 2, check ONE WAY MESSAGE. Add your Company name in the COMPANY TAG field. Maximum 11 characters including spaces.

How do I send a two-way message?

Login to your account. Go to MESSAGES > COMPOSE MESSAGES. At Step 2, check TWO WAY MESSAGE. Messages received will be seen to originate from a number, allowing the recipients to reply to you.

How do I send SMS from my phone to groups?

Login to your account. Go to SERVICES > PHONE 2 SMS. First, use this page to authorise the number of the mobile phone you wish to use. Then, follow the instructions on this page to send a message from this phone through your Webtext account to a group within your contacts.

How do I send SMS from my email?

Login to your account. Go to SERVICES > EMAIL 2 SMS. First, use this page to authorise the email address or addresses you wish to use. Then, follow the instructions on this page to send a message from this email address through your Webtext account to any mobile number. You simply address an email to the number (example: 071234567@webtext.com, or 4471234567@webtext.com).

How do I send and receive text messages directly from my IM client ?

Login to your account. Go to SERVICES > IM/Jabber to SMS and enter the IM/Jabber address you want to authorise.

How do I use the Fast Finder to target groups?

By having identifiers applied to your contacts (e.g. age, locality, group, class) you can select all the contacts belonging to a particular identifier and send to them. Login to your account. Go to MESSAGES > COMPOSE MESSAGES. At Step 1, use the FAST FINDER drop-down to choose the heading you want to search under. Then enter part of a name or number in the entry field and press SEARCH key. Results will come up in the WHO TO field.

How do I create a message template?

Login to your account. Go to MESSAGES > MESSAGE TEMPLATES. Follow the on-screen instructions and create different templates for frequently sent messages.

How do I send long messages?

Login to your account. Go to MESSAGES > COMPOSE MESSAGES. At Step 3 beside MAX MESSAGE SIZE, use the + and - buttons to increase or decrease the length of your message. Remember each additional step up (e.g. from 160 characters to 306) will be charged as an additional message.

How do I use international characters in my message?

Login to your account. Go to MESSAGES > COMPOSE MESSAGES. At Step 3 click ADVANCED SETTINGS and check UNICODE. International characters can now be used, but note that the number of characters per message is reduced substantially (from 160 to 70).

How do I get replies sent to my phone?

Login to your account. Go to MESSAGES > INCOMING SETTINGS. Select where you want incoming messages forwarded to (email, phone, URL).

How do I personalise my messages?

Message Management

How do I forward a message?

Login to your account. Go to MESSAGES > INBOX. Find the message you want to forward, click FORWARD. Your message will appear on the COMPOSE screen. Enter the recipients' names/numbers and send.

How do I schedule my messages?

Login to your account. Go to MESSAGES > COMPOSE MESSAGES and select SEND LATER. A scheduling screen opens so you can select date, time and frequency.

How do I repeat send my messages?

Login to your account. Go to MESSAGES > COMPOSE MESSAGES and select REPEAT SENDING.

How do I send a message that can only be read once?

Login to your account. Go to MESSAGES > COMPOSE MESSAGES. At Step 3 click ADVANCED SETTINGS and check FLASH.

How do I check for failed messages?

Login to your account. Go to MESSAGES > INBOX. All failed messages will be identified in the MESSAGE DETAILS column.

How do I slow release my messages?

Login to your account. Go to MESSAGES > COMPOSE MESSAGE. At Step 3 check SEND LATER and SLOW RELEASE and specify the start and finish times by dragging the slider.

How do I limit the time the system tries to send a message?

Login to your account. Go to MESSAGES > COMPOSE MESSAGES. At Step 3 click ADVANCED SETTINGS and select the VALID FOR duration you need.

How do I view my message schedule?

Login to your account. Go to MESSAGES > REMINDERS / SCHEDULES. Your scheduled messages are displayed with dates and times.
