Email 2 SMS
Use our Email to SMS service to send and receive SMS text messages. Any email account can be used. Set-up takes minutes and it can be used as an alternative API method.

How It Works
First you need to authorise the email address you will be sending from (this only needs to be done once). This is done by adding the email address to the authorise list in email to SMS options. Use the OPTIONS tab or the “quick links” drop down menu to access these this list.
Messages can then be sent to either individual or groups of mobile numbers.
You can send messages to individual mobile numbers from your email account by sending messages to number@webtext.com or to contact groups by sending messages to aliasnumber@webtext.com
Sales meeting
The meeting for Friday is now on @ 10pm instead of 4pm please reply to confirm, John
The message then arrives to webtext where we check that your email is authorised and then we convert the email message starting with the subject field and then followed by the body of the email message into a SMS text message.
Messages can be sent to contact groups you have creates in your online sms webtext account. Message sent in this way use an alias number which is shown beside each contact group in you online sms account. Each of these numbers begins with three 8’s (example 888123456).

- Filters Signatures– If your email sytem automatically adds unwanted text to your outgoing message, maybe a corporate disclaimer, or anti-virus information, you can get WEBTEXT to strip this extra text from the outgoing SMS text message.
- Delivery reports - By default, any delivery reports from messages sent via EMAIL 2 SMS are stored in your online SMS “SENT” folder. However, if you wish, we can forward these receipts to you by email.
- Subject line - By default, the outgoing SMS contains the email subject line AND the body, separated by a space. However, you can set your account to ignore the subject line and just use the body of the email when sending a message.
- Sender ID - you can set the sender ID from which the message will appear to originate. If the sender ID is set, the message is likely to be more intelligible to the recipient.
- Email replies - replies are stored in your online inbox but they can also be forwarded to any email address.
- 2-way conversations – you can easily reply back and forward creating 2-way conversations
- We can embed your mobile number
